MIsty of Chincoteague Descendant with Marguerite Henry Biography

MIsty of Chincoteague Descendant with Marguerite Henry Biography

Horse books for a Chincoteague Pony? Mac, a Misty descendant colt bred by Hart's Island Pony Ranch in Minnesota, is a smart little cookie (and incredibly cute). If he could read books, he would undoubtedly want to learn more about his great, great, great, great (not sure how many greats) grand dam, the real Misty of Chincoteague.

I'm may be biased as the author of Marguerite, Misty and Me: a Horse Lover's Hunt for the Hidden History of Marguerite Henry and her Chincoteague Pony, but I think he would definitely ask his mom to read a few pages to him before bed. lol

Like Misty, Mac was born on a horse farm. Misty was born at the Beebe Ranch in Virginia in 1946. Author Marguerite Henry saw her when she was a few days old and was smitten at first sight.

Mac was born in the middle of cornfields at a small Chincoteague Pony breeding farm near Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2023.

This photo taken by Rebekah Hart, President of the International Chincoteague Pony Association and Registry was just so cute I had to share it.

Thanks for reading and if you love horse books and devoured the Marguerite Henry books, I hope you will read my Marguerite Henry biography, Marguerite, Misty and Me.
