Essential reading for Marguerite Henry fans!
This book is absolutely essential reading for any fan of Marguerite Henry's novels. While it isn't a strictly factual biography of the author, its truly so much more. I thoroughly enjoyed sharing the journey of discovery with the author, Susan Friedland; because she did, what I've wanted to do for years - dig through archives and documents to get to know one of my favorite authors on a deeper level.
I know Marguerite would be so thrilled to know that her stories have touched so many people, and connected them by our shared love of one golden pinto pony: Misty.

Factual book about Marguerite Henry author of Misty of Chincoteague and other books
I thought this book was excellent. It is superbly written and researched!! The facts about Chincoteague Island and the infamous pony swim are spot on and interestingly written. I am thrilled to add this to my Marguerite Henry and other horse book collection. Kudos to Susan Friedland for a great book!!!
I spent my childhood on the back of a pony and I adored the Marguerite Henry books. I wrote to her once and was thrilled to receive her newsletter and autograph. So, reading Marguerite, Misty and Me was a must! The author weaves together Marguerite's story, the people and ponies of Chincoteague, and her personal narrative in a delightful way. I was amazed to learn how incredibly dedicated Marguerite was to her craft and especially her young fans (like 10yr old me!)
This is a lovely, well-written book and it was a pleasure to read. I learned so many things I didn't know. Susan Friedland absolutely captures the magic of Marguerite Henry and her enduring appeal.

A delightful read for anyone who grew up reading Marguerite Henry's books
This book is about a woman's quest to know more about her favorite author, Marguerite Henry. Susan Friedland is the voice of any horse loving person who has adored Marguerite Henry's books and when you read it, you feel like you are there doing the research with Susan. This will take you back to your favorite books of Misty, Brighty, and King of the Wind. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
